Plot outline: A teenage girl risks everything when she falls for a vampire.
Plot: Bella Swan has always been a little different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared to mount with the trendy girls at her school, plastic from Phoenix, Arizona. When his mother remarried and sent Bella to live with his father in the rainy town of Forks, Washington, she did not expect much to change. But things change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she already knew. Hes nothing like anyone that she is already met, period. Hes clever and witty, and he seems to see straight to your soul. In no time, they are dragged into a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance – unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. It can be run faster than a mountain lion. It can stop a moving car with his own hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, hes immortal. Thats right-vampire. But he has no teeth – that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, while Edward and his family are unique among vampires with this choice of lifestyle. For Edward, Bella is one thing that he waited for a soul mate of 90 years. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the force of his perfume, primary that could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or another, they must manage their uncontrollable love. But what to do when Laurent and James, mortal vampire enemies Cullen, come to town, looking for Bella? A modern, visual, and visceral Romeo & Juliet story of the ultimate forbidden love affair – between vampire and mortal.

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time

Tonight I was lucky to see an advanced screening of this film. Like lots of, I became a fan of this franchise with the Sands of Time trilogy, and I was excited when I learned that there were designs to make a feature film based on it. The storyline of the game is cinematic (at least in the aforementioned trilogy, not necessarily in the earlier games in the series) so I felt that at film adaptation would be an impressive epic.

Scarface

Every great gangster film has under-currents of human drama. Don't expect an emotional story of guilt, retribution & despair from "Scarface". This is a story of ferocious greed, corruption, & power. The darker side of the fabled "American Dream".
Anyone complaining about the "cheesiness" of this film is missing the point. The superficial characters, cheesy music, & dated fashions further fuel the criticism of this life of diabolical excess. Nothing in the lives of these characters matter, not on any human level at least. In fact the film practically borderlines satire, ironic thinking about all the gangsta rappers that were positively inspired by the lifestyle of Tony Montana.

Your Highness

In the immortal words of Sidney Deane as played by Wesley Snipes in White Men Can't Jump; 'The sun even shines on a dogs ass some days…'. There I was minding my own business going to watch a man fire darts from his butt hole and in 3D no less, when a kindly lady with a clipboard asks me if I wanted free tickets to a screening on Wednesday. Being the sort that never looks a gift horse in the mouth and seeing the title of said movie on the clipboard I said 'of course my good lady, I will relieve you of the burden of your tickets'. My details were taken and I was all set to see Your Highness on Wednesday. You see this is the latest film from David Gordon Green, the art-house director who turned his hand to comedy with Pineapple Express and stars Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Deschanel. I knew the premise and I couldn't wait to see what they did with it.

The film begins with Prince Thadeus (McBride) in a dwarf village with his servant/sidekick Courtney, he has clearly upset the little people as he is about to be hanged. Due to a miscalculation about the length of the rope Thadeus and Courtney escape back to the kingdom where Thadeus's brother Fabious (Franco) has returned from another successful quest after defeating the evil Leezar (Justin Theroux) and won the hand of his new bride to be Belladonna (Deschanel). The kingdom revels in Fabious's success and once again the oafish Thadeus is pushed to the side, preferring instead to womanize and smoke wizard weed. At the happy couple's wedding Leezar returns and kidnaps the virgin Belladonna with the intention of impregnating her with a dragon when the twin moons are aligned (or as Leezar politely refers to it 'The Fuckening'). Fabious must once again go on a quest to rescue his beloved with his trusty band of knights. Thaddeus is given a choice; go on the quest with his brother and man up or get out of the kingdom. So Fabious and Thadeus set off on the quest where they will encounter a village of nude savage women, A wizard puppet who is also a possible pederast, huge mythical snake beasts, a horny minotaur and vengeful vixen Isabel (Portman). Thadeus must learn to be a hero, handle a sword and woo the fiery Isabel who is on a quest of her own.

Three Musketeers

particularly liked the evil performances of Rochefort (Michael Wincott) and Cardinal (Tim Curry). The rest of the cast includes plenty of A-list types such as Keifer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen, Oliver Platt, Rebecca DeMornay, Gabriel Anwar, and Chris O'Donnell. There are more great one-liners in this movie than a Clint Eastwood film, a Sean Connery film, and a Arnold Schwarzenegger film combined. This movie is definately worth seeing and worth owning. Again, Tim Curry and Michael Wincott's performances really do it for me. Evil!
